Girls Rugby 2020

Forest Rugby offers girls aged 10 to 17 the opportunity to play competitive Rugby 7s against other girls from other clubs in a competition that starts mid February 2020.  Now entering our 6th year of our girls rugby program, we celebrate a premiership with our 2019 U15s girls which was a fantastic result for our program.

We welcome girls of all skill levels to come learn the game and join in the fast growing Olympic sport. Our qualified coaching team will teach even beginners the basics and help build girls confidence and skill level throughout the year.

7s is a hybrid version that sits part way between touch football and the traditional 15 a side we associate with rugby.  It’s fast paced, highly skilled, and exciting for both players and spectators.  Scrums and lineouts are smaller versions of the traditional game and the contact, thou there, is not as physical as the larger version of the game.  It is suited for girls of all shapes and sizes.

Games are held on Saturday afternoon/evenings with 2 games played each week (a game only last 14 minutes) with the younger ages starting at around 3pm with the older ones from around 6pm.

Training dates are yet to be confirmed but will most likely start mid/late January 2020.  They will be held on Monday nights from 6pm up at the Forest Rugby Club on Melwood Ave in Forestville.
