Club rugby has many”Traditions !”
At Forest i feel we strive to keep all rugby traditions alive .
From our hard approach on the feild ,and our respect for the opposition and officials on and off the field .
To our hospitality at home games and attendence to away functions , and the growth of us becoming one of the best Family clubs going around ,which in all we can be very proud .
On Saturday one of the traditions continues with the Blue mountains round one bus trip .
For the past 3 seasons Round 1 has been away (far away )and a manditory bus trip , with all of its other traditions have taken place .
What a way to kick off the season , I love em !
Its a great chance to reaquaint and catchup quietly on the way out , harnessing that nervous energy for the big day desperate to perform well in the first game of the year . And then a bit more socially on the way back letting off some steam where more traditions are undertaken.
I have partaken in just about all rugby great traditions, but tomorrow there will be a first .
Ill be joining Ian ‘firthy” Firth in his “egg in ones beer “.
Usually a hangover cure (that would explain a lot ), he would line up at the bar while we are tucking in to a more conventional Bob Foster Breaky chased down with the local takeaway coffee ,and sip quietly on this underrated heart starter .
Its an interesting mix.Reserch has told me its considered among a few things as a shampoo,stain remover and wait for it an aphrodisiac ?(which would also explain a few things )
It has no name as such that i could find other than the Baltimore Breakfast but that is a bit lame .
So tomorrow as i stand at the bar waiting to board the bus with Firthy for what should be a cracking day out ! Egg and bacon roll in one hand and a skinny cap in the other staring at what i will rename “The Blue Mountains Bus Trip Breaky Shake “,or the “BTB” and see what secret this social cocktail holds .

Opening game for the season is allways full of expectations and this year like no other ,considering the way we finished last year and the success that rewarded the players the supporters and the club as a whole the anticipation for more sucsess is at an alltime high .
And im sure that ” Tradition will Continue ! ”
See you at 730 am for breakfast , bus gets home at 730 pm $20 covers travel ,conversation and beers on the way back .
