Three games into 2016 and we seem to be chipping away nicely .
A creaky start with mixed results from the enjoyable Mountains trip. Plucky turnaround wins at home for the higher grades and a gruelling unlucky night game loss to colts against hunters in r2 and the past weekends matches to a club that are clearly having trouble off the field as well as on it . Looks to be Relegation for them so early in the season,
what a shame.
Now a fortnight till “The Local Derby ” with the Breakers (boo hiss)
All things are pointing towards another strong competitive season in Green and white !
New players have fitted in well covering early season injuries and commitments to key players.
The playing groups look to be unified in more success this year .
After hiccups in round 1 first and second grade have looked to have brushed aside any hangover symptoms of last year and have slipped into gear nicely .
4’s appear to be running riot again 3 for 3 with solid early season form.
A close bond has built up between players and they look to rectify last years result.
3rd grade continue to struggle to get a foot hold in their time slot with close losses.Players backing up to fill up the side before kickoff and the interchange bench in constant use it makes it hard .
Personally i would love to see this rectified and have 3rd grade stand alone and be able to pick a form based side .
There is a very strong 3rd ‘s side amongst the playing group in a always very open competition , who knows we could be killing both comps ?
Colts seemed to have turned a corner with new passion and commitment.
The players are standing together to improve on last seasons finish .The forming of new combinations and a willingness in defence is the only way up .
Off field the club still has a busy schedule with the colder months still ahead of us.There are plenty of re unions ,celebrations and partying to go ,Melwood oval will be the envy of other clubs.
Our opposition should take a leaf out of our hospitality book , food at ridiculous prices ,facilities that are dirty and unkept and talk from one of our life members and game day announcer ,that beer at the last game was being served out of a bucket of water ?
Clueless really !
We are extremly lucky that the people behind the scenes do such a great job in keeping the club stocked with plenty of food and drink both during and after the game, the toilets are always clean as to the ground and the surounds .
This builds and brings the atmosphere and the support which is legendary and the club is thriving because of it.
There is always something that has to be done , so if your at a loose end anytime on a saturday at the footy chip in and keep the Forest machine heading in the right direction .
enjoy the week off!
